Deep plane facelift cost at RNWOOD: questions about pricing, the deposit and what the fee covers

Dr. Min-Hee Ryu Medical Director and Founder, RNWOOD Plastic Surgery

This page answers questions about how pricing works for a deep plane facelift at RNWOOD Plastic Surgery in Seoul. It does not quote a price. The clinic gives an estimate at the online stage and a final price after Dr. Min-Hee Ryu has examined you in person. The plan is set at that examination.

How the price is given

Q1) When do I first hear a price?

A1) At the email or online consultation. That stage gives an estimated price, along with arrangements for the in-person consultation, deposit information and a general test list.

Q2) When is the price final?

A2) At the in-person consultation in Seoul, after Dr. Ryu's manual assessment. Final pricing is given then.

Q3) Why can the final price differ from the estimate?

A3) The estimate is based on photographs and your history. The final plan is set after Dr. Ryu examines you in person, and the price follows the plan.

Q4) Is there a deposit?

A4) Yes. Deposit information is provided at the online stage.

What the surgical fee covers

Q5) Is anesthesia included?

A5) Yes. The anesthesiology fee is included in the surgical fee. A deep plane facelift is performed mainly under IV sedation. RNWOOD's in-house anesthesiologist remains present throughout the entire procedure, continuously monitoring each patient's condition.

Q6) Is aftercare included?

A6) Yes. Post-operative care, including hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) and Healite LED therapy, is included. In the recovery timeline these are given from day 1 to day 7.

Q7) Are shampoo sessions included?

A7) Yes. Shampoo services are included; the timeline places them on days 1, 3 and 5.

What is paid separately

Q8) Is the hotel included?

A8) No. Hotel accommodation is not included in the surgical fee.

Q9) Are pre-operative tests included?

A9) No. Pre-operative tests and laboratory costs are outside the fee. The tests before surgery are an electrocardiogram, blood tests and a chest X-ray.

Q10) Is medicine after surgery included?

A10) No. Prescription medicine after surgery is paid separately.

Q11) What about getting around Seoul?

A11) Personal transport during your stay is not included.

Questions to ask for your own plan

Q12) If I add a neck lift or fat grafting, does the price change?

A12) Each procedure is judged on its own need, and the final price follows the final plan set at the in-person consultation.

Q13) If surgery is not recommended, what happens?

A13) Surgery is recommended based on symptoms. If the assessment finds a deep plane facelift is not needed, Dr. Ryu says so.

Deep Plane Facelift — Deep plane facelift involves extensive dissection beneath facial tissues. Risks include anesthesia reactions, bleeding, hematoma, infection, seroma, delayed healing, wound separation, persistent pain, and visible scars. Swelling, bruising, tightness, and numbness can last for months, and hair loss or distortion of the hairline or ear position can occur. Poor blood supply can cause skin loss or tissue death. Nerve injury can cause temporary or permanent weakness, an altered smile, or numbness, and injury to the parotid gland or salivary duct can cause salivary leakage. A postoperative hematoma can require urgent drainage or another operation. General risks include thrombosis or embolism, and a complication can require emergency treatment or additional surgery. No result, symmetry, scar quality, or duration can be guaranteed, and sagging can recur. Post-operative Care — Swelling, bruising, pain, tightness, and numbness can continue during the postoperative care period, and recovery speed differs between individuals. If you have severe pain, rapid swelling, fever, a change in vision, or a wound that opens or drains, contact the clinical team right away using the contact details you were given. Necklift — Neck lift can require extensive dissection beneath neck tissues. Risks include anesthesia reactions, bleeding, hematoma, infection, seroma, delayed healing, wound separation, persistent pain, and visible scars, as well as prolonged swelling, tightness, numbness, contour irregularity, and asymmetry. Nerve injury can cause temporary or permanent weakness, including lower-lip weakness, or altered sensation, and injury to the parotid gland or salivary duct can cause salivary leakage. A large neck hematoma can obstruct the airway and require immediate emergency treatment. Platysmal bands can remain or return. General risks include thrombosis or embolism, and a complication can require emergency treatment or additional surgery. No result, symmetry, scar quality, or duration can be guaranteed, and revision surgery can become necessary. Fat Graft — Fat harvesting can cause donor-site pain, scarring, numbness, contour irregularity, bleeding, hematoma, or infection. Fat grafting can cause prolonged swelling, asymmetry, lumps, oil cysts, calcification, overcorrection, undercorrection, migration, infection, or fat necrosis. Rarely, injected fat can enter a blood vessel and cause skin necrosis, permanent blindness, stroke, or severe neurological injury. Not all transferred fat survives, results vary substantially, and no preparation or injection method guarantees better fat survival. A complication can require emergency treatment or additional surgery.
